QA Software Test Engineer

    Responsibilities

    Software Testing

    • Ensure that your products are released to or above the agreed standard and coverage
    • Producing test documentation such as test plans, test and regression scripts
    • Responsibility for all stages of testing in particular regression and functional
    • Sanity checking the software when it is deployed to the live environments
    • Reduce the test time required by introducing automated testing wherever possible

    Programme & Project Management

    • Work closely with Release Management to ensure timely availability of QA documentation
    • Self-responsibility for achieving agreed project timescales
    • Accurate and timely reporting of progress to respective stakeholders and release management via the project tools

    Deployment

    • Ensuring deployment night test scripts are up to date and executed during deployment
    • Sanity checking the quality of a release following deployment

    Business Process Design & Continuous Improvement

    • Contributing to the improvement of processes and to the metrics used to monitor the quality and coverage of our testing
    • Assist in achieving the Team’s performance targets, promoting and enhancing the culture amongst the test team
    • Assist team members in achieving their goals

    Requirements and the individual

    • Proven experience in testing software products (ideally web based SaaS products).
    • Experience of structured Testing across the full Software Development Life Cycle is essential.
    • Strong experience working with Selenium WebDriver and Java to produce automated test scripts within a TestNG Framework is highly desirable.
    • Working experience of testing in agile methodologies (in particular SCRUM) is highly desirable.
    • ISEB/ISTQB/BCS Foundation Certification is desirable.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills essential.
    • A lateral thinking approach to problem solving is required.
    • Self-motivated, dedicated with structured working practices.
    • Ability to work on own or part of a team.
